Why does my tank get destroyed before I even see the enemy?
Closed thread Closed by archiveI swear half my ground battles are me driving around a corner and immediately getting sent back to the hangar.
Sometimes I can't even figure out where the shot came from. Is this mostly a map knowledge issue, or am I missing something obvious about spotting?
I know rushing straight through the middle is probably not helping, but sitting behind a rock for the entire match doesn't sound very exciting either.

Use third-person camera positioning to inspect your surroundings when appropriate. You don't have to expose your whole tank just to look around.
The amount of times I've driven past a completely obvious firing lane is embarrassing.
Also learn the common routes. If an enemy can see a road from three different positions, crossing it without checking is basically a donation.
What vehicle are you using? A fast light tank needs a different approach from a heavily armored vehicle.
And check the server replay after a confusing death. Sometimes the enemy had a clear line of sight that wasn't obvious from your perspective.
